OKLAHOMA STATE TROOPERS "PROTECTING" THE INNOCENT.

Well, I am sick of seeing more and more of these videos. Not sick of the videos, per se', more being sick of the fact that this is even happening. According to where I got the video from, the site states the Ambulance was pulled over for speeding.
I thought ambulances were allowed to speed. I mean, cops can speed when they turn on their sirens, so what's the difference? They are all emergency services, last I checked. Lights and Siren ON=cars move out of the way because there is an emergency. That's how it is supposed to work.

I also find it interesting that the EMT that is the driver of the ambulance is WHITE. Notice his partner is BLACK (Name is White)? The black partner is attending to the patient in the back of the vehicle, and has NOTHING to do with driving. From where HE is sitting, he CANNOT even see the road. In fact, I White said he saw the Oklahoma State Troopers flashing their lights, and informed the driver before the driver even noticed. Either way, they attempt to arrest the BLACK EMT. At worst, he may have given the State Troopers some choice words from within the ambulance in the back for having stopped a vehicle on the way to the hospital.

EMT's are SWORN by oath and by consequences of LAW to do whatever it taked to protect a patient. I think telling a cop to fuck off and deal with it later is fair. The STATE TROOPERS had no RIGHT in pullinf over an ambulance.

So...I want you to ponder this. How far away from where the ambulance was forced to stop, was the hospital? Was it so far that the State Troopers could not have waited for the ambulance to Drop off the patient, then harass the EMT's after the REAL VICTIM, the patient, is safely turned over to the receiving hospital?

Apparently not. And apprently, if you are dying, it's ok for the ambulance to be pulled over for speeding. I bet if there was a bleeding Oklahoma State Trooper in back, those cops would be escorting the "Speeding Ambulance" instead of abusing their authority over others.

Here is the rear EMT's Statement of the Incident.

"As my partner was pulling onto the shoulder, the cruiser came alongside our unit and gestured for my driver to pull over," White says. "When the officer came to a complete stop behind the ambulance, I noticed a woman in the front seat. Based on the officer's erratic driving behavior, I thought that the woman in the front seat of the cruiser was in need of immediate medical attention; hence I exited the rear of the ambulance in order to assess the situation."

White says the officer was in a rage when he approached them and yelled "get your a-- back here! I am giving you a ticket for failure to yield." White says he told the trooper they had a patient in the ambulance and that they were on their way to the hospital.

"He ignored my statement, became even more belligerent, and demanded my partner come to his patrol car so he could write him a ticket," White says. "I calmly told the officer that we were transporting a patient and we could continue this at the hospital."

White says the trooper then approached him and shouted "you are under arrest for obstructing a police officer" and grabbed his arm to handcuff him. A brief struggle followed, at which point the trooper grabbed White by the throat. The cell phone captured this incident on video.

BULLSHIT. I especially like how the offending State Troopers did not even follow through and go to the hospital, becuase they were so embarrassed of the mess they made.

White says the trooper later told him they could continue on to the hospital, but that he would be under arrest once they got there. White was never arrested, but says troopers told him he should be prepared to turn himself in if a warrant was issued.

  1. Police seem to have the attitude that everyone is their enemy. Don't know if it's the training or what, but that's how many seem to behave. Of course, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

  2. I think its many things... one big point i came up with recently...

With exposure of events like this, a mass sentiment of distrust begins to unfold. I know my exposure to police in middle school and high school was the "good ones" that came to give speeches about drugs, or being a police officer. Other examples were T.V. shows like COPS and cop dramas. All showing police doing GOOD things, and always WINNING.

Presently, as the world grows larger, values drop. Have you noticed how much more violent a cartoon is than it was in the 90's? Drop of values, music glorifying killing police, many many many many more tv shows depicting police, good and bad ones, and the internet to show the most heinous events that USED to be covered up. All those combined is a huge recipe for disaster. I know I would hate cops as a teenager, more than I already did. I just have more reasons to now adays than a would back then. More exposure, I guess.

Now think about people that want to be cops. They are surrounded by people that HATE cops, love to hate them, and share their hate openly. To me, this is a time for the soon to be officer to realize his soon to be "perpetrators" true feelings about police. Growing up around this much increased hate and distrust towards police SHOULD make that kid fearful to become a cop. When he does, he remembers the hate and the growing anti-police sentiment, making EVERYONE, essentially, an enemy, until proven otherwise.

  3. Oh and to add... making everyone an enemy until proven otherwise is a great tactic for war...not for a country full of 99.99999999% innocents and non combatants. This makes for over zealous policing and extreme violence with little regard until proven wrong later.

  4. First of all - these are Oklahoma State Troopers, who are NOTORIOUS for being assholes.

Secondly, I think it also shows how people, police included, don't use any common sense anymore. The second trooper should have just let the ambulance continue to the hospital and spoken to the EMTs there once they dropped off the patient. Police should be protecting and serving.

Thirdly, that poor woman in the back of the ambulance - the cops should have been thinking of her. Her family can sue the shit out of the cops now.

Forth - did I mention Okie State Troopers are assholes? Seriously, they get off on power. Worst attitude I've ever seen on cops - and I've meet loads of cops.

  6. OH snap
I wish I was at the scene here. I would have a website demoralizing each of these officers. I'm not sure if you caught it but they pulled em over not for speeding but because one of the troopers had to slow down while responding to a call and the ambulance ran a red light.
First and for most, saving a life is worth more than saving that precious television from being stolen, or some drunk driver. Cause well if the drunk driver hurts someone and we don't have ambulances because they are being pulled over.. I think I made my point.

Furthermore, I think there was some power tripping here. I've watched the video twice now, and those officers have some stank on their 'tude if you know what I mean. Everyone of them should be reprimanded, if not fired.

Man you find some of the very best abuse cases.

I was talking to a retired state trooper this past tuesday and I have no respect for new cops. He was telling me that most of these newtimer cops are poorly educated *mostly out of highschool* and many of them are angry. We spoke about the abuse and the stigma of cops being *pigs*; eating up the publics tax dollars; and he agreed. The new cops of the day are not public servants. He was saying that not since the early 90's were officers of the law servants. Today he made a point of calling officers, revenue collectors. In brief he said, "All they want is to impose their power and make an arrest. When I was in the force we didn't see how many arrests we could make, or how many tickets we could write. We helped the people, and prided ourselves in making the world a better place. " He continued to tell me stories about how it was commonplace to help out a stranded passenger, or change a tire for someone inable to change their own. Today shit.. you're lucky if a cop calls a cab for you, or goes easy and doesn't write you a ticket.
All I know is stigma associated with cops today is accurate. It is real and is due to the social and politcal ideals.

  7. This same police dept. did not release the dash cam footage until the cell phone footage was released, in fact they originally said that there was no dash cam footage of the incident, furthermore, you wont find that footage to be seen anywhere on the web.

There may be a lot more good cops than bad cops but unfortunately they are so consumed with writing revenue tickets and taking poor people to jail while letting the rich roll with immunity that the regular folks like me just do not trust them with our best interests.

I can only imagine that if there was a civil war in America, that law enforcement officials will become FAIR fodder.

They deny having "quotas" when everyone knows they have them. They protect their own and as they other poster put it, "if there was a officer in the ambulance, there would have been a 50 car escort, with roads blocked, flares out, the whole nine yards, and that ambulance wouldn't have stopped till it was parked in the middle of the ER lobby.

The economy is in the tank and tax collections are down,... you will be getting a ticket for something soon unless you are a cop or government official.

  8. Does anyone really think that the ambulance driver was not is the wrong? The car in front of the ambulance heard the siren from the cop car that was behind the ambulance. Last time I took a look at a drivers license book, you are required to yield to emergency lights and sirens. That was enough to pull over the ambulance (who didn't have any outward indication that they were in an emergency).

The Trooper was over the top but I love how he was the only one in the wrong in this situation and should be punished. Last I knew when a cop arrests someone they can't just say I don't want to be arrested. When did we change to letting people make that decision for themselves? Maybe I am a little bit old school and still give the position of authority the respect it deserves not decide to do what I want when I want.
